The Fratelli's - Chelsea Dagger

While many may remember the Amstel Light Commercial with this song, that played nearly every time a show cut to commercial, That doesn't change the fact that they are a wonderful band. It also doesn't mean that Amstel Light is a good beer. It means the marketing crew at the company has good taste in music. The Fratelli's are straight out of Scotland, with punch and a little bit of attitude. This song Chelsea Dagger takes a catchy vocal tune in the beginning, a catchy verse, and a catchy chorus and laces it all together for an ultimate win. Usually all of this catchy-ness gets annoying, but thats exactly why I'm highlighting the Fratelli's. Because they find a way around this and Make it extremely catchy without crossing that annoying line. Enjoy the Dam Good Bier *ahem* I mean Band.

Apologies / The Blow - True Affection.

First of all I would like to apologize for the past days lack of tracks. I am in the process of moving out of my parents house and onto my own. I am fixing up an apartment which was in dire straights. So to say the least it has been an exhaustive time. Fortunately the light at the end of tunnel has been getting closer and closer and all that is left is a carpet installation and some minor touch ups. Anyhow this is no excuse for my disappearance from this obligation. Well I'm here to with a treat. The Blow. A woman from Brooklyn New York with some serious talent and a knack for electronic music. This track True Affection is an amazing example of how sometimes less equals more. Today, I let the music speak for itself.

Iron & Wine - A History Of Lovers

To write, perform, record, and produce an entire album from home is in itself a feat. To have that album subsequently released on a famous label with the likes of The Shins, Foals, The Postal Service, and Sunny Day Real Estate is a dream. A dream that came true for folk artist Samuel Beam. Since than he has released three studio albums and seven EP's. He whispers melodious lyrics alongside his acoustic guitar, banjo, and steel slide guitar for a truly authentic folk feel. The skill level of his guitar playing alone is quite impressive, but Beam does not stop there, he brings beautiful whispered lyrics into the mix as well, creating a genuinely unique experience for the listener. Iron & Wine has really carved its own path in the folk world, and the unique feel is matched by none.

Keane - Bend and Break

Most bands start out with a few rough EP's or an album or two that aren't that great or anything, but for English Piano Rock band Keane, they seem to have transcended that trend. Their first studio album, Hopes and Fears, really shines forth the talent and beauty that Keane is. Tom Chaplin's voice is beautiful, soothing, and all around pleasing to the ears. This album is filled with little gems that seem to elegantly capture the essence of mature emotion. The finding of Love, the loss of love, and overall change are exuberated with beautiful piano melodies and a stunning voice. All of which come together for an ultimately wonderful listening experience. Which makes Keane, the band that they are.

Monsters of Folk - In The Right Place

Monsters of Folk was born out of five men who started just jamming with each other on stage and backstage while with their respective bands. Monsters of Folk consists of Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes, Jim James from My Morning Jacket, M. Ward Of She & Him And solo work, And Will Johnson from Centro-matic. With the coming together of these respective talented men bloomed something amazing. Their folk influenced songs have a way of looking directly into your soul and speaking to you. Sometimes in a positive light, and other times in a less than bright light. They simply speak words from their heart about how life can sometimes be less than amazing, but in a way that justifies lyrical genius. These are just some of the reasons why Monsters if Folk deserves to be highlighted here. Monsters of Folk entire first album is worth listening to. So go on and listen! I don't think you'll regret it.

Hello all, my name is Christopher Lombardi. I've decided I want to start a blog that highlights one amazing song for everyday. Lets face it life is better with music, and there is a lot of amazing music out there no one even knows about. Music is extremely important to me, which has thus led me on a journey to find amazing music. I feel it is my duty to share this with anyone who loves music. I feel i have a unique and intricate taste in music. Which means the only songs that will make the list to be the song of the day will be nothing short of amazing. I will be highlighting the song via youtube and writing a little on the song and why it makes my list of wonderful music. Today's song is by a band named Spoon. The name of the track is the way we get by. I realize this is a well known song but that doesn't change that the song highlights Spoon's unique talent. Spoon has a way of putting simple music to otherwise simple lyrics and making magic happen. This song is a perfect example of this.
